GETTING A VISA FOR IRELAND
I am an EU or EEA citizen. Do I need a visa?
No. You can come and go as you please. The European Economic Area (EEA) contains the EU Member States (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom) and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Swiss nationals are included in this category under a separate EU agreement.
I am not an EU or EEA citizen. Do I need a visa for Ireland?
Many countries do not require a visa. To check this, the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs have a list of countries whose nationals DO NOT require a visa to enter Ireland. If you are Swiss, see the note above.
